The aims and objectives of  the International Society of Counselling and Clinical Supervisors (ISOCCS) is to promote excellence in the education of counselling and clinical supervisors, and to support ongoing best practice, quality professional development, and supervision of supervisors in all work settings.

 

This includes:

 

  • improving and expanding access to quality supervision education for health professionals in training across the public, private and non-government sectors. This will be achieved through programs that expand capacity, improve quality and other diversity in learning opportunities;

 

  • promoting excellence in the education of counselling and clinical supervisors through AQF nationally accredited courses;

 

  • building capacity for credentialing and supervision of supervisors;

 

  • encouraging and establishing a  commitment towards professional development  through activities such as conferences, workshops, networking, webinars, research, publications and special interest groups;

 

  • monitoring and auditing ethical practice of supervisors in the field of counselling and clinical supervision;

 

  • formulating and reviewing standards and processes in counselling and clinical supervision education;

 

  • consulting and liaising with relevant professional and government bodies involved in the accreditation process of education within the AQF levels of qualifications for counselling and clinical supervisors to liaise with pertinent local, national and international organisations.
